Our basketball club is a new addition to the club and began in 2022.
We as a club were very fortunate to receive a donation from Alan Foley in the summer of 2022, of €1,000 which enabled us to purchase 2 new height adjustable basket ball poles & hoops.
With the new basketball set, many more members have joined and the courts are utilized daily along with lessons that take place every Friday afternoon, we have been organically growing with 2 classes currently being held. Lessons are open to members and non members, please scroll to read more about our lessons.
Our courts are open to all members daily from 8.30am - 21.30pm, in a beautiful location, its a great way to socialize whilst shooting some hoops with friends and family.

Basketball programs
We run weekly basketball lessons every Friday afternoon.
The lessons are for those who wish to have fun, be introduced to the sport and for those who want to learn tips and tricks to enhance their game, in a warm, fun, friendly environment with coach Karen.

Lesson timings, 4.30 - 5.15pm 5.15 - 6pm every Friday afternoon

Age category, 4 - 12yrs ( groups are divided into age categories)

Lessons are open to both members and non members.

Membership
Fountainstown community sports club is open to everyone to join, we provide social and competitive sporting activities within a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Our Coaches
Karen is a primary school teacher and basketball coach based in Carrigaline. She has been teaching for 11 years and coaching for as long as she can remember!
As an U12 player with Carrigaline Underage Basketball Club she went along to help out with younger academy groups. In Transition Year she spent a season as assistant coach for U12 girls and she hasn’t looked back since. She has experience coaching both boys and girls teams at U11, U12, U13 and U14 level as well as Academy groups from the age of 7 upwards.
After deciding to take a step back from competitive coaching, the opportunity to get involved with Fountainstown Community Sports Club arose, whereby Karen joined the team here and launched the basketball club, bringing life back to the club with this new sport added, we at the club are delighted to have Karen on board since its inception.
